Location - Sedona, AZ

Good hiking weather, around 70 degrees and sunny.
This outing was different for us, we had a lot on our minds, as we just found out about my wife's medical condition... I am contemplating if I should write about it here.

Grand Canyon with Snow

HUG ME!!!

Winter condition in Grand Canyon is actually very trecherous. We're at South Rim today, just driving through highway 180 was a dangerous undertaking, as many people stopped on the side of the road, to enjoy a little snow play. Why people ignore on-coming traffic on a busy, icy road is beyond me.

Once we're at Grand Canyon, the condition didn't get better. The Rim Trail was very icy, with many people slipping on the ice covered trail. The road to Hermit's Rest was closed due to fresh overnight snow. That's too bad, because I was hoping to get to Hermit's Rest, and enjoy sitting in front of that big fire place they have to warm me up... Maybe next time.

Chihuly Exhibition

Chihuly's interpretion of the agave.

I wonder if you can make Tequila from that? :)

Phoenix- Desert Botanical Garden

Currently on display, Chihuly glass. The way they placed Chihuly glassware through out the garden was really nicely done. Several pieces mixed really well with the desert plants.

Winter time is a much better time to visit the garden, as the temperature was a nice 70 degree yesterday. Our first visit was in June, and it was not a pleasant experience due to the heat, :(

I grabbed the Olympus E500 this time, it's a nice camera when I want light weight DSLR to bring with me. The built-in sensor cleaning function also works really well, which I do appreciate a great deal, as I am having problem removing some dust specs from my Nikon and Pentax at this time.....
